I'm on Cingular's prepaid plan. The user guide says "Cingular service does
not support downloadable ringtones from external sites. You must use
ringtones available for download at www.cingular.com/rings."

Is that true? After a lot of research I found the ringtone I like the best
at ringtonejukebox.

If it makes any difference I have a Motorola Razr V3 (which I bought off of
eBay).

Thanks, Bob

Download it to a PC, and then transfer it to the V3 by cable or
Bluetooth.

Thanks John, Do I need the Motorola tools to transfer from my PC to the
Razr? (The CD which came with my Razr does not look genuine, and when I
tried it my PC crashed and has been crashing almost twice a day ever since -
although it had never crashed before.) I think I saw that a PC software CD
can be ordered from Motorola but costs over $30.

Motorola documentation, by the way, is absolutely abysmal. So I am not sure
I could find out how do to a transfer from my PC to the Razr.

Thanks, Bob

MPT is available at low cost from sources like shopoem.com

You may be able to "push" ringtones to the phone over Bluetooth without
MPT -- right click and send to (paired) Bluetooth device.

A legitimate copy of MTP(make sure its V4 or better) can be had at
Amazon.com and other places for less than $10.00. A bluetooth adapter for
your PC can be had for about the same price or maybe a bit more (in the
teens) from dozens of places (Newegg.com). There is a freeware program, PK
Commander, that does some fo what MPT does, but not as elegantly.

As for how to make all these work and transfer ring tones to your phone,
as well as how to make your own (free) ring tones from CDs you have lying
around the house, check the guides here:
