Hi
My verizon contract just expired, but I am still getting "free"?
service and texting. How long will this go on for? I have a cheap
little flip phone and would like to replace with an unlocked
blackberry 7105t. On the verizon website it says that I can just
enter:

All mobile devices are identified by an Electronic Serial Number (ESN)
or a Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID), which are typically found in
the back of the handset after removing your battery. Your device will
have one of the following ESN/MEID formats:

And it will work, but does it also need a SIM card to work, or will
the ESN allow me to use it with my verizon phone number?

Thanks

It's not free- after your contract expires you simply go month-to-month
with the same rate plan.

The 7105t is a GSM phone, and Verizon uses CDMA. The 7105t will not work
on Verizon, any more than an AM-only radio can tune-in an FM station.
