| Is there an alternative DNS server I can connect to?
I can connect to the network when I open the browser, but stays on
'locating' then an error message.

Occasionally I find that to be true. I break the connection and
reestablish and it's okay.
Sometimes I think it has to do with the previous hibernation or suspend
status of a Wifi connection.
You could define any one of a number of DNS servers as a static server.
Sometimes I specify the DNS server for my ISP, or the local cable company.
