We can't possibly imprison 300 million Americans for not paying their

"Why then does the iPhone get to pay a lower price for the same amount
of useage? WHY?!
BECAUSE YOU JUST SHELLED OUT $500 F***ING DOLLARS."

Yeah. Duh. What's next, a rant about end of year and holiday sale
rebate and financing specials for motor vehicles?

"My goal here is to get the same services for the same price: it's
only fair."

Life. Isn't. Fair.

Deal with it.

Actually you can get the exact same thing. "MEdia(TM) Max 200" without
M2M is $19.99 ($24.99 with UL M2M which you probably have already) and
includes unlimited WAP data plus 200 text messages--the same thing the
iPhone plan has. Drop the $4.99. So $39.99 + $19.99 = guess what %59.98.
Gosh, you'd be paying 1 cent less than the iPhone users. And you can
ignore the compatible phone and plan dropdown--they just added it for me
even though I've got a GAIT plan and phone that hasn't been listed in a
year or more. Keep calling until you get someone who knows what they're
doing--and be polite--very polite.

I believe the Media Max 200 deal is not available for PDA's, so he would not
be able to get this package with his blackjack.

Good grief. The Samsung Blackjack is running Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone
Edition and does not have a touch screen--that's a definition of
smartphone not pda--to everybody ELSE. But Cingular does have it paired
with the pda plans on their site--so I withdraw my answer--they probably
wouldn't do it unless you can do it without getting a human involved.
Anyone care to challenge Cingular on their smartphone vrs pda
definitions? Including why they even have them? Phone vrs tethering I
can somewhat understand--but smartphone vrs PDA no longer is meaningful.

Actually that's only Microsoft's definition, AFAIK. Generally every
company has their own definition, and the industry tends to use the
"Smartphone" for any advanced data-capable device.

Because Windows Mobile Smartphones (MS definition) are almost as capable
as PDAs and can certainly burn through as much data.

I assume to Cingular, a "Smartphone" is something more like my old Nokia
3600 series Symbian phone- it can do POP/IMAP e-mail, browse with a low-
grade HTML browser, and run Java apps.
