And anyone who has worked on corporate level production contracts
knows that they don't get written overnight...or even in a matter of a
few weeks...and that it will have delivery schedules that stretch out
for several months, if not years. The longer the specified run is,
the lower the product cost because the more units to amortize across
your fixed costs (tooling, etc).

This is *Undergraduate* level' Economics 101' stuff for Manufacturing,
folks.
