Author Best Source For News Text Updates?

I have a plain Razr and the current provider clips the text messages to my
cellphone so that I only get a few words of a breaking news story. Anyone
have a good source of news updates?

I really miss the pager I had ten years ago. It had live AP updates coming
in by the minutes. I used to get into trouble at meetings when I was caught
reading it.

The problem isthe nature of text messaging. SMS is limited to about
160 characters or so (give or take, depending on carrier.) If your
service allows breaking news to be sent by e-mail, rather than text,
and you have a phone that supports push e-mail (Blackberry, Windows
Mobile, etc.) you can get a better substitute for your old pager's
service.

Otherwise, ifyour RAZR supports POP/IMAP e-mail and auto-retrieval,
you could set it to retrieve every 10 or 15 minutes. Not quite
"push" but close enough for most of us.
