Anyone interested in leaving alt.* and moving to the new newsgroups?

Why would someone leave an established newsgroup for groups with less
propagation?
Why would a responsible hierarchy administrator try to force this kind
of change in posting habits on people who are satisfied with their
current newsgroups?

I'm not advocating the change. I'm asking the members of 2 alt.cellular.*
groups if they are interested in the new Big-8 newsgroups. I would rather
stay in the established groups but will go wherever the regular contributors
go.
