Verizon wireless - Bitpim Help Needed

I am somewhat confused.

I have the right cable for my Verizon vx4500.

I've downloaded Bitpim 8.0.

Do I also need a cable "driver" to get Bitpim to transfer wallpaper and
ringtones to my cell phone?

The cable I have is a Futuredial model 19, Do I have to now spend
another $40 to purchase the Futuredial software suite?
