Want to sell my 815
|
|
|
| I don't know what my options are here.
I got my 815 for a little over a month now and I would like to sell it.
What I don't know is if I can. Will the ESN be activated by VZW for who I
sell it to?
I got the phone with an upgrade price with a new 2 year contract so I do
not know if the phone is technically mine until the 2 years are up.
TIA

Will you be retaining your Verizon service with another phone? If so,
you can sell it and the buyer should have no problems activating it.

Yes I will keep VZW using my LG VX7000.
Thanks for the information.

Just because it's new, is thinner and has full BT capability?
The E815 has a few things going for it that the RAZR doesn't:
Fantastic voice-dialing, with no voice-command programming, it just
WORKS.
MP3 player.
Trans-flash card slot.
No 2.5mm headphone jack for a standard handsfree, either get the
mini-USB kind (I think they make them) or you're forced to spend the
cash on a BT model if you desire to talk while driving (in NYS
anyway).
Research that RAZR, it appears it's a "trendy" item that is directed
to those that have wanted one since the GSM version came out. It's a
bit expensive for having a feature missing that I find VERY handy and
well-designed on my phone. I can live without the OBEX profile on BT,
the amount of money I'll spend sending TXT messages will not make up
the price difference between my phone and the RAZR, considering mine
was free with 2-yr. contract, rebate (which I DID get) and NE2.

I believe that the BT capability of the VZW RAZR is disabled much like the
other VT phones that VZW has..
Other than that, I fully agree with your other points below...:-)

Your dreaming if you think Verizon is going to give you full Bluetooth
Capability!

According to folks on HowardForums with VZW RAZRs, VZW forgot to disable
the OBEX (file transfer) profile, despite the written disclaimers that
say that it does not support that profile. It apparently behaves just
like the 815 does when the BT functionality is "liberated" with a seam edit.

I believe that the voice dialing on the Verizon RAZR is the same as on
the 815 (unlike the GSM RAZR).
