Motorola Razr (Just picked it up at the store)

| I just went to the Verizon in Circuit city and picked up the Razr..
They gave me $50.00 off for getting it with the 1 year contract (already a
verizon customer). They also gave me the $100.00 rebate form to send in,
along with a $75.00 gift card from Verizon.
So the bottom line is, the phone was not as expensive as I expected.. I did
not expect to get any type of rebate for the $100.00 nor the $50.00 off the
phone or the $75.00 from circuit city..
I expected to spend $350.00 for the phone ... I only ended up paying $299.00
and get the 100 off.
Also need to say, I've only had the phone for a few hours and I love the way
it feels.. Talk about small but it feels good in my hands..
It was hard to keep away from it while the battery was being charged but it
was finished charging pretty quick.. So I'm just starting to play with it.

My wife received her web order yeaterday and handed it to ME to program
[grrr]. I like the RF and audio performance, as well as the quality of
construction. Unfortunately, though, (as I had read earlier) the menus
have been Verizon-ized. As a GSM phone user, this took me a little while
to re-orient myself ... but my complaint is more about the logic and
consistency of the user interface. For instance, in adding entries to the
phone book, including assigning groups and ringers ... sometimes the left
soft key functions where the center ("OK") button should logically do that
job ... and vice versa. So many times I ended up saving a contact
prematurely while I was still editing ... because the logical key, for
instance, to indicate that I wanted to change the default ringer, was
really assigned to SAVE rather than edit. Grrrr....

| Still waiting on mine. Ordered mine the morning of the 7th, at
midnight. Order Status on the Verizon website still posts "Check back
tomorrow". ACK!

| Your better off canceling your order and getting it at the store. The
Verizon stores inside circuit city are giving $75 gift cards when purchased
there.
You might be able to talk them into giving you the $100 rebate off at the
store without having to send it in, just bring a copy of the website showing
that it was ordered.
Worth a try?

I ordered my 815 late on a Sunday evening. It still said that as of
Wednesday morning, but Wednesday evening it said Shipped. It arrived
Friday... at my home, even though I specified to ship it to me at work.
