| I am looking for a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter to plug my VX8100 into my Car
stereo's Aux in. I just want to use the MP3 player on the VX8100 through my
car speakers. I want the 3.5mm to be a female stereo connector. A lot of the
Verizonwireless stores are demoing a Altec Lansing Portable speaker system
to hook up the VX8100 to and each one I have seen has the adapter I want.
When I ask the verizon people where I could find if separately they say it
comes in the box with the speakers. Any help would be appreciated.

If you want more options, try Googling with the terms:
"2.5mm" "3.5mm" adapter

| Try Radio Shack. That's where I got mine.

Try Radio Shack. That is always my 1st stop when looking for adapters.

I tried the radio shack version and they are intermittent as hell in my
VX8100. I.e., the radio shack adapter sucks in the VX8100.
I saw a thread somewhere that these jacks in the VX8100 are very choosey
about which 2.5mm plugs they work well with.

Darn I am very surprised. I would contact LG directly. In the past I
have gotten through to technicians on the phone within 15 minutes of
dialing. Who knows how long you may have to wait, but they may be able
to direct you in some form.
I would also write an email to LG and Verizon (HAHHAHHAHA. You should
get LG's response, but no holding your breath for a direct abswer from

| I had tried Radio Shack several weeks ago and bought the two ring stereo
version but when you push it in all the way in on the phone, you only hear
one channel not stereo. You can pull it out a little and get stereo but then
the jack falls out.
I have talked to the tech support people at my Verizon store and all I get
is dumb looks. They want to know why I want to connect a telephone to a car
radio. They have not overcome the idea that what they sell as a telephone
does other things like play music or audio books.
I have a pair of stereo head phones and mic that I got from LG that lets you
listen to the phone in stereo as well has talk hands free. The 2.5mm
connector has 3 rings. From what I have read the layout of the rings and
connection on the jack is not standard(in fact I am not sure there is a
standard).
I was almost down to buying another set of headphones and cutting off the
jack and making my own. Then I saw this on Ebay. Thought I would give it a
try first.

Thanks for all the responses

| The adapter caused problems like that? Huh. Weird. It's just a little
plug. I bought mine so I could plug my MP3 player into my phone and record
ringtones for free. BTW, I have an 8000 but it's so damn similar to an
8100.
