Author strange *228 issues

I went to update my PRL today, as soon as I dialed *228 my phone basically
went to no service, and it said activation unsuccessful, so I dialed *22800
and I get to the over the air programming stuff just fine and I can upgrade
my PRL, and I received PRL 50293. After I did that, I dailed *228 again, and
it started sending me to Sprint PCS, which just gives an error message,
something along the line of the number of code you dialed is not correct. I
can also dial *22807, which is Verizon's PCS channel here in Columbus, Ohio,
and I recieve the same PRL. Is anyone else having an issue like this around
here or anywhere else?

I've been having a lot of problems with Verizon here in Northern CA.
Several weeks ago, I was trying to reach Verizon CS by dialing 611. I
kept getting Sprint's CS!

It finally went back to Verizon after I traveled some distance.

The issue is not that I'm on extended network or roaming, I have a strong
native Verizon signal, as I have always had here, but that *228 seems to be
broken. I would not expect *228 to work if I was roaming or something, same
with 611.

I once downloaded a VZW PRL to my Sprint PCS Kyocera 2035 via OTA. That
was a hoot. Hasn't worked right since.
