Oddly enough, I find our 911 operators more than cooperative in testing and
very helpful with other questions I've asked them. 911 operators are the
reason my 83-year-old father has a 3W, 12V lighter operated bagphone in his
car with no service set to STD A/B on AMPS. Dad was concerned he'd be in
trouble if his car broke down and he dialed 911 to ask for help, instead of
paying Onstar or some other company. "No, not at all.", the 911 operator
told us. "We'd much rather send help to your elderly father from our
terminals, than have to send police and ambulance out to pick up his body
once the road warriors were done robbing him." "You have him call us
immediately if he gets stranded, anywhere in the area. We'll find help for
him, immediately.", she continued.

They weren't annoyed at all....
