| My mom and dad and sister have been Verizon Customers for a few months now.
They are on the family share plan 1000 minutes for $ 70.00 and the bill
shows $ 70.00 for the plan and 2 charges for $ 9.99. Since my mom had 3
phones on the account should there only be 1 charge for $ 9.99. Because the
plan states ( Now) or stated ( When they signed up for the plan at that
time) 1000 minutes for 69.99 for the first 2 lines, then additional lines
for $ 9.99. So then the bill should be $ 70.00 for 2 lines and $9.99 for
the 3rd line, Correct ? That is the way I am reading the web site and that
family share plans were just like that when my mom signed up for 3 lines. I
just love verizons billing practices and all the crap they try to pull to
nickel and dime there customers all the time.

| Either Verizon singled out your parents and slipped in an extra $10
charge because they thought they could get away with it,
or you misread the bill.

| The bill shows a break down of the charges and phone calls for each line. I
seen a charge for $ 70.00 for the main line and a charge for $ 9.99 for the
second line and a $ 9.99 charge for the 3rd line. It is all listed on the
call and charges break down for each line. So I guess that Verizon is
slipping in an extra $10.

| The 1000 minute plan is $79.99 for the two lines & $9.99 for the other line.

| When I signed up for the $59.99 plan, for two lines, it was broken down
as $50 for the first line and $9.99 for the second line. Each
additional line was another $9.99.

| So it's beginning to look as if the only thing VZW slipped
in was yet another customer who didn't know what they
bought, didn't read what they bought, and can't add?

| It's amazing, isn't it? It's almost understandable why companies
orient their customer service reps to asuume that customers are
ignorant.

| Did you notice the plans have changed? In my market the entry level plan is
something like 700 mins for $69.99. The plan you're on doesn't exist here
anymore -- I'm on it.
I noticed the strange billing myself but the plan adds up to what it's
supposed to.

| First: The 500 minute plan is still available. You get what they advertise,
but they do make some "slick" moves. What you don't get is the 2nd line for
$9.99; I'll explain. 2 lines, 500 minutes, $59.99
Think the way it used to be:
$39.99 + $19.99 = 500 minutes for 2 lines. But you think to yourself, where
is the $9.99 share line?
Translates on your 1st bill to:
$49.99 + $9.99 (ignore the penny) = 500 minutes for 2 lines.
So on your bill, the 1st line is $49.99 ($10 increase) and the 2nd line is
$9.99 ( $10- decrease). The price is right, as they advertise the plan for
$59.99 or such. It is just a "hack" that they MISLEAD you into thinking the
share plan is $9.99, when the $9.99 price only applies to lines 3/4/5.
Have they lied to you? Not really. Have they misrepresented and perhaps
deceived you? That is up to you. Me, I told you how it is. There is no
2nd line $9.99 option, it is $19.99 and all about how they present it to
you. Want the $9.99 share, then add line 3/4/5. Misleading? It depends.

I don't know about you but what matters to me is
"This is what I want. How much does it cost?".
And you're pointing out the itimizing on the bill. They
do not advertise a second line at all. A family share
requires at least 2 lines. Here is the Family Share
banner straight off the web site.
Sign up on a Family SharePlan® starting at
$69.99 monthly access for 2 lines and get
additional lines for just $9.99 monthly access
per line*.
I want a car. The dealer says it's going to cost
$35K out the door. I really can't see getting hung
up on whether they billed me $30K for the wheels
and $5K for the rest of it.
What does your Attorney General think about it?
Do you think it's actionable?

When I signed my CONTRACTS at the time I signed up for the $59.99
Family Share Plan with TWO additional lines, the CONTRACTS clearly
stated that the first line was $50.00 (exactly fifty dollars), and the
second line was $9.99, as was the third and fourth line. I
specifically brought that to the attention of the sales rep, because I
thought it was a mistake, and he explained that that is the way they
break down the basic price on the four separate contracts.
It may have previously been $39.99, $19.99 at one time, but now the
second and subsequent lines are $9.99. And that accounts for the
missing penny.
