Verizon wireless - SMS acknowledgement to Sprint

SMS acknowledgement to Sprint

Hello,

Normally, when I send SMS messages, I can tell when a message has been
delivered to the handset of the recipient via the status indication in my
V710's Outbox. This has worked even cross-carrier to Cingular and Sprint
users. However, for one friend of mine on Sprint, I never get the
acknowledgement.

Does anyone know why this would happen and whether there is something I can
do to make it work? (Is it something wrong on her end that maybe we can
have Sprint fix?)

This isn't too big of a deal as messages are usually delivered in a timely
manner, but there have been a few that have never been delivered at all.

I have a Verizon LG VX6100. I only ever get SMS acknowledgment from
other Verizon phones. I've never gotten one from a phone that wasn't
Verizon.
