Author Long Distance Access Code

When I use my cordless phone and want to call long distance a recording
suggests i use a long distance access code. I know the code and wonder
what it means. The code here is 10-10-220. Does that mean the long
distance is free. If I use this code with my cell phone is it free or
not?
Also I have long distance as a part of my cell phone package. But it is
not free. Is it supposed to be? I called a friend with my cell long
distance and only talked for a few minutes and was charged 20 cents. I
called the same person with the cordless phone and access code and
wonder how much I will be charged if at all. I did get to talk for about
6 minutes. Any answers or suggestions will be appreciated. Bob

Read the front of your phone book on Long Distance. Read the material that
came with your cell phone.

Eeeyew, don't. 10-10-220 is Telecom*USA, which is owned by MCI.

MCI's wireless unit screwed people four ways from Sunday (including friends
of mine), MCI Long Distance continues to defraud people, and MCI unit UUNET
has a history of overbilling and misbilling (ask any of a large number of
ISP's who get portions of their connectivity from UUNET).

I wasn't suggesting that Bobb (Really, Bobb? 2 "B"s? <g> ) use 10-10-220,
but he seemed to be clueless about how these long distance companies operate.

Very little is free with cell phones. 10-10-220 will add the LD charges to
your cell phone bill.

Which plan do you have? Local digital plans will charge for long distance
if you dial outside of the coverage area.
