Author experience with LG VX3200, VX7000 usb/software?

Hi,

I saw on ebay a seller advertising a USB cable with "Handset Manager"
that allows phone book synchronization with a PC, loading pictures and
ringtones to the phone from the PC, and so on. I have a LG VX3200, and
being the musical type of person, I'm more interested in making my own
ring tones than spending $1.99 at vtext.com to get some pop-song ring
tone.

Does anyone have any experience with such software?
Is the software usable, and does it work?
Can one really write a custom ringtone for these LG phones?

For reference, the ebay link is
http://cgi.ebay.com/PREMIUM-USB-DAT.../> cmdZViewItem
The seller is "phonestations", and the item is "PREMIUM USB DATA
CABLE+SOFTWARE+RINGT
ONES for LG".

Thanks for any info you might share.
