According to the Phonescoop site the 8000 has been discontinued. What a
shame. The 8100 continues to get amazingly low ratings for a flagship
model. Go figure.

I also like my 8000. It is hard as hell to keep up with technology because
it keeps changing. I bought my 8000 the first day it came out. Feb. 1st and
now it is discontinued and replaced with the 8100. Which is a smaller
version, smaller screen and a few more features. ( Bluetooth, memory card,
ect). They need to make a cell phone with a large screen, that has blue
tooth, memory card and tons of other features all in one device.

Just because it's discontinued doesn't mean it suddenly stops being a great
phone. I bought mine the first day it came out and frankly nothing has come
out since that makes me even slightly think about what my next phone will
be. I could definitely see myself NOT taking advantage of my next $100
upgrade down the road. Of course I say that now but still, I love the 8000,
it's been the best phone I've had (out of 3 that I've owned), and it will
continue to be a great phone for the foreseeable future.

Well of course not. I spoke to a VZW store rep today and in his opinion
the main reason was the size. Most men didn't care, but a ton of women
thought it was to unwieldy. Personally I think it is a fine phone. For
the poster who loved it, well to each his/her own. :>>
