It's probably the same kit used for the vx8000.

I figured I'd see a verizon kit for sale on ebay, but alas all I see are
knockoff's selling for $3 a piece. Where else can I find the data transfer
kit? I don't want to spend the $80 verizon wants for the kit unless I really
have to.

I believe Radio Shack has a cable that will work with it and one can
download the FutureDial USB drivers.

I've read others buying cables cheap ($10 or less) on Ebay, but I don't
have any specific information as to who the vendors are, let alone
quality ones.

On a side note, when I ordered my Verizon kit for my VX8000, it was for
one of the 4x00 series phones. At least with the VZW kit, you can buy it
and test out the cable. If it works, then you know what the compatible
models are. The connectors look the same, but sometimes aren't
interchangable. I have yet to see _confirmation_ as to what previous
models are compatable with the VX8100.

Cable from everydaysource on ebay for $8 shipped, includes driver disk,
nice cable. Bitpim for free from bitpim.sourceforge.net. Latest
bitpim supports 8000, don't know about the 8100.

Also, according to datapilot.com website, cables for 6100, 7000, 8000
and 8100 are the same....

I bought the cable that is suppose to work with the 8100, but I can't
find any software that works with it. Where can I get the data
transfer software?
