I am considering switiching to Verizon from Cingular due to coverage issues.
I love the Motorola V3 Rzor phone I have though. Does Verizon have anything
close? Suggestions please.

Thank in advance... Fred

Korea, I don't think you're there ;). My e815 can do most anything the
razr can do. BE WARNED that Verizon is not as liberal about your using
the phone's features in ways that do not allow them monetary gain...
that includes (if you haven't read other threads) the bluetooth being
restrained to a few functions, MP3 ringtone capabilities being limited,
and a few other nuisances - UNLESS you want to go covert and do a little
phone hacking.

Whoops... I read now that there is a chance at at CDMA Razr for Verizon
by December... I'm NOT a good source for this kinda stuff, just
parroting what I've read.

In size, unfortunately no. However, the Motorola e815 blows away the
RAZR in features, hands down. Faster data speed (even without EVDO, but
having EVDO on the e915is *nice*), better camera with flash, better
internal memory and it adds transflash storage. And when you get down
to it, the e815 isn't THAT much larger.

Verizon has prototypes of the CDMA Razr for testing. There's a guy selling
them, Verizon-branded and containing Get-It-Now and video on demand
software already installed, for truly obscene multi-thousand dollar
prices. Rumors are, if things go well, they will be out 1Q06.

By then, of course, all the folks in Europe will be using the enhanced
Razor 3x. And so it goes: Europe gets this year's models, USA gets last
year's GSM models, and Verizon gets 2-year old designs.

I'm fond of my e815 too... and the razr only has "thinness" on its
side! When I put my phone against one in a store the razr was a quarter
inch wider and a half inch longer!! I'suppose that if you're a
back-pocket kinda guy then it would be the ticket, just don't try to
sit down!

But at least with the Razor the Bluetooth has not been crippled.

I'm sure it will be on Verizon's.

The Bluetooth on the CDMA RAZR for VZW will certainly be as disabled as
on the 815. It was VZW who told Motorola to disable the features on the
815 even though Motorola had implemented them. No reason to believe they
won't give the same instructions for the RAZR.

Perfectly fine by me. All of Motorola's current phones use roughly the
same operating system, and generally if you care about OBEX and DUN,
then you're probably technically inclined enough to get the tools needed
to correct Verizon's error. :)
