Nextel vs Verizon Blackberry

| I'm getting ready to purchase some Blackberry units for my company.
Currently Verizon and Nextel have a promotion of buy 10 get the
Enterprise Server software free.
My question is, which has the better data network? Some users will use
it only for data, some will use it for voice and data. In regards to
voice, I believe Verizon has the best coverage.
Thanks,

| Take a look at the Blackberry forum for answers to all of your Blackberry
questions. http://www.blackberryforums.com/. I believe that there is a
thread discussing the differences between Nextel and Verizon.

There's no argument there, Verizon DOES have the wider coverage and
better voice network.
One thing your company's users will need to understand about Blackberry
on Verizon, however, is that if you're not in Verizon-native coverage,
the push e-mail and data functions of the device will probably not work,
but the voice functions will. If you check Verizon's coverage map
carefully, any places that show Verizon-native digital coverage
(represented by bright yellow on their maps) and not "extended" or
"analog" coverage, will provide the data services your Blackberries need
for data and e-mail. "Extended" areas will most likely provide only
voice (regular telephone) functions. And I do not believe the Blackerry
offers an analog mode, so analog-only equates to no service.
On the other hand, there is no such thing as extended or roaming on
Nextel, so as long as you're in a coverage area, then all functions work
all of the time. The bad news is that their coverage footprint is WAY
smaller, and there are far more places where you'll see no service on a
Nextel blackberry then you'll see on a Verizon unit.
