Author No Mobile Web . . . . . .

I am in NYC and since yesterday I have not been able to connect with my
phone's browser to the web. Also, I can't send or receive any text
messages.

I was on the phone with CS from the Data Dept. and after checking all my
phone settings, (LG VX7000), she tells me that there is a switch down and
that is the problem.

This switch that is down could effect everybody or nobody but no progress
is expected within 48 hours. What crap.

Another thing is that all the hype that VZW has been telling everyone on
their recordings about being able to get your My Phone information,
billing, etc., by using your browser even though you do not subscribe to
web service, is finished. She says that now the only way you can get that
info is by subscribing to Mobile Web Svc., five bucks monthly, which I do
but not for long. Funny how every time she put me on hold I hear the
recording telling me I don't have to subscribe to use my browser to get
that info.

Is anyone having a problem with their Mobile Web Service and/or text
messaging? Or am I the only one out of all their customers that is?

Thank you!

Thanks for the reply. Mine time sout every time and I get the error message
"network down".

I am dumping the service tomorrow and I just might dump VZW altogether
also.

I found out today that you have to have Oct 1st to canel service and
contract without a penalty fee because they added that 40 cent
administration fee and didn't give customers the option to opt out. The way
I feel todai, I have a year left on my contract, and I think I will opt out
of here tomorrow.

I pay for Mobile Web = no service
I pay for IN unlimited Pic/Text = no service
I was on temporary suspend for less than one day because my boss was
sending me to Europe on a job. Trip was cancelled the next morning and they
won't wave the $15 surcharge for putting me on suspend for less than a day.

What the hell am I still doing here?

I am in central NJ and have been having a problem with Mobile Web this
weekend, as well: Very slow loading pages, frequent time outs. I just
subscribed to this service with my new Moto E815 and I am not impressed
with Mobile Web. It better improve soon!

You were given misinformation about "Handset My Account" -- check the link
below:

http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/...PIC&topicID=274

1) "If you are a customer, you do not have to subscribe to the Mobile
Web service to access Handset My Account. In addition, you can
use this new self-serve functionality free of charge. You will not
incur any airtime charges to use these services when they are in
a Verizon Wireless service area."

2) "Is there a charge for airtime for accessing the usage and balance
information from their handset?

No, Handset My Account in a Verizon Wireless service area does
not have a charge, even if you don't subscribe to Mobile Web.
Handset My Account is another free self-serve option that we
provide customers so that they can get the information they want
when they need it."
