| For Scott and any one else that felt my note was belittling:
Thru July 2005, I was having success activating old non-gps phones, if they had been on the account prior, with a VZW supervisors help. As of September 17th (or their-bouts) VZW's willingness or system capability to put non gps phones on the line is gone. My apologies to all if this post, or my previous success belittled anyone. dr

I had posted that I was still having success re-activating old phones that were not 911 compliant. As of late, it isn't working at all. They cite FCC and VZW policy, which are both true. There is no longer a work-around.
This note "retracts" a previous statement, that I can still get old phones activated; not if they aren't aGPS/911. dr
Maybe you should also consider an apology to all of those that you belittled by scoffing at the very information you just posted.
