Author GPS on my VZW Kyocera KX1

According to Phone Scoop, my Kyocera KX1v is GPS capable. On my phone,
there is a symbol, a circle with a cross through it, (*) indicating
that the GPS is currently disabled. Under the Menu, Phone Info, it
shows that hash marks next to the symbol would indicate that GPS is
enabled [*)))]. There doesn't seem to be any way to manually enable
GPS.

How is GPS enabled? Programming by VZW? When making a 911 call?

If programed on all the time, does it suck up the battery when enabled?

Where's the GPS antenna? Separate from the phone's antenna?

Thanks for any insight.

My phones have two options. 1) Having GPS enabled always; and 2) Having GPS
only enabled when dialing 911. Don't know if that's the same on all phones.

The symbol you see indicates that GPS is enabled only when you dial
911......

You have two menu choices, on with 911 or on all the time.....

Thanks, folks, I found it. Menu, Settings, Network, Location, choose
On All The Time or when in 911 call. 911 was preset.

911 is probably the preferred for most of us. I've never figured out what
good the 'plain' GPS setting is...

You have to have the devices out there before deploying
the service. localized ads, directories, yellow pages, etc.
