Author Camera phone help needed.

I have a new Motorola V276. I got it for a number of its features as I
travel a lot and use it for internet, too. It has a camera. I'm a little
interested in the camera. While I understand that if I take pix and
email them to myself there is an additional charge, I have seen
references to using either the Motorola Phone Tools *or* the VZW Mobile
Office Kit to transfer the pix to one's PC.

I have the MOK and have installed it on my PC. Can some one please give
me basic, non-technical instructions on how to use the MOK to transfer
pix? I'm not as up on all the techie terms like most of y'all, so I'd
appreciate simple-language directions. Make-believe you are explaining
it to your grandmother <g>

This email address works.

TIA
J

Similar question here.

I was under the impression that A: I could use Mobile Phone Tools to
transfer pics from my E815 via cable, and B: that I could use MPT through
bluetooth to sync contacts and calendar, both without modification to the
phone's programming. The MPT Help file shows a file transfer function, but
it doesn't appear on the actual application.

The E815 has to be hacked to re-enable the picture-to-PC functionality
(either cable with MPT or BT), and you cannot even do it with MPT with
the V276 (other unofficial tools are required). VZW *really* wants you
to use their PIX service for this :( .

MPT is the tool for contacts/calendar on all Motorola phones, and works
either with cable or BT on the 815. It does not require any hacking.

On an unhacked E815 you can use a TransFlash card to transfer pictures
and MP3 files to and from a PC.

How? I can't get it to do anything but headset and handsfree profiles.

MPT talks to the phone over some kind of modem profile to do the
contact/calendar stuff (extended "AT" command set). You have to start
MPT and go through the "new modem" setup in it to the point where it
wants to see the phone **BEFORE** turning on the Bluetooth discovery
mode ("Find me") in the phone or plugging in the USB cable, so *its*
drivers are loaded, not the default ones the OS wants to load.

If you want to use the phone as a modem, entering "##DIALUP" quickly
will turn on the DUN (dialup) profile, but I don't think that it is
necessary for the contact/calendar access from MPT.

This is from the Motorola subforum of the Verizon Wireless forum in

Thanks. I checked HoFo once and couldn't make heads or tails of it, but I
guess I'll give it another try.
