Author "Car Baby" et al, anybody use one?

Anybody use one of those FM transmitters that clips onto the earpiece and
transmits the audio to your FM radio in the car?

I had one a few years ago and it wasn't good, but there's a new generation
of them out there now called "Car Baby", and I wonder if they're any better
now.

The actual mechanics of the thing are far more attractive to me than having
to plug this stupid earpiece into the phone and hang it, uncomfortably, from
my ear. Ironically, since my state (NY) was one of the first to pass the
ridiculous handsfree law, I find the annoyance of the earpiece to be FAR
more distracting than just holding the damn phone.

TIA

Dean

Why not just get a cell that has a speakerphone function?
This way you won't have the "annoyance of the earpiece."

I am on my second "speakerphone" equipped cell phone, the first was a v60s
and the second is a Kyocera SoHo.

For actual phone conversations, they are both a bad joke in a moving car,
unless you drive a Lincoln.

On the other hand, the Nextel speakerphones (obviously also Motorola) I've
used are excellent. I'd gladly carry a Verizon equivalent of the i90 in size
if it had the i90's speakerphone.

I'm not sure of a lot of things, but this I know.....as soon as I pick out
my next phone, 16 days later VZW will come out with a really good
speakerphone.

Can anyone tell me if the E815 speakerphone comes anywhere near the Nextel
models?

Thanks
Dean

I use the speakerphone on my LG VX8000 and have never had a complaint of
someone not hearing me. I can hear the other party crystal clear every
time, as well.

That's good, but while you're at it, how about trimming out the signatures
and maybe some other stuff that's no longer relevant? In this post, just
cutting the sigs would have saved 13 lines. And really, the whole original
post and your reply to it could have been dumped without hurting the
meaning of the current reply.

And yes, it would help if the other guy had a signature delimiter ("-- " on
a line by itself) and if his client would recognize the delimiter that you
use.

Forget it. Where is the microphone?

If you don't like headsets, then buy a phone that has an available
professional handsfree car kit. Many Motorola phones have these
available (it's a hang-up cup specific to the phone, plus the base
unit). The V276, V325, E815, V710, etc, have hang-up cups available, as
did the V60s/V60p. See "http://nordicgroup.us/mphfck/" for more details.
