Still loving my Nokia 6256i

| Not too many people have this phone and I'm not sure why. The reception is
awesome, all of the Bluetooth functions work just fine, has a memory card
slot, plays and can use MP3's, has a camera with a flash, and has pretty
good battery life. I've had this phone for over a month now and love it. I'm
very glad I didn't go with the E815, since my friend has one who walks
through my house with little or no reception, and side by side my Nokia has
at least two bars. Also, he can't simply copy files via Bluetooth...some
thing he "should" be able to. Well, unless you don't care about functions
the phone is capable of doing but is blocked on purpose. So, if you are
interested in a NON-crippled Verizon phone that's clamshell form...check out
the Nokia 6256i. One complaint. It's a little thick. Which I overlook
completely since it's performance and Bluetooth functions work great.

| Where did you get the phone? Verizon still doesn't offer it for upgrading
customers. I want one so bad!

Does the voice-dialing let you speak a number and have it dialed?
Thanks.

Apparently it's being carried only at the Circuit City
stores-within-a-store. And it _is_ being offered to upgrading
customers; I picked up one as my NE2 just last night.
It wasn't easy, though. The phone does not show as available on the
VZW Web site, phonescoop.com (IIRC) lists it as "discontinued", and
half the time you ask VZW folks here about it, they think you're
talking about the 6236i (bar phone). The closest CC to me had only
their display phone and absolutely no idea when they'd get more
("Maybe a month or so..."). A CC about 20 miles away from me (in a
metro area of around 2. 5 million people) was the only one with
_any_ phones (didn't have one on display, either), so I made the
trek. So far, it's been worth it. I can't believe how much they've
packed into this phone. Maybe there's a supply constraint and VZW
doesn't want to push a phone it can't get.

i got the 6256i about 2 weeks ago at a best buy. the circuit city
across the street also had it for $10.00 less (best buy price
matched.)
it is by far the best verizon phone i have had.
i believe there are published workarounds for all of the
verizon-crippled areas except the java.
