I just bought an LG VX 8100. I'm using Bitpim 0.8.0.6 on Mac OS X
(10.4.4) with a USB data cable. My computer is bluetooth enabled.
vCast isn't available in my area, and the people at the Verizon store
told me that I couldn't put songs on my phone (as in whole songs, not
just ringtones) unless I used Windows Media Play 10. >:-| Is there any
way that I can put a few songs on it without using windoze? I don't
care about being able to sync or anything; I just have a few specific
songs that I want to put on there. I'd prefer some method that doesn't
involve using Bitpim, since its so unstable and I have had it screw up
other phones before. But if Bitpim is the only way to do it, then how
do you do that? I found the directory in the phone's file system that
should store the songs, but when I tried to upload an MP3 to that
folder, Bitpim just gave me an error (one of those long crash reports
that you're supposed to send back to the programmer).

Easy way, get the MiniSD card, copy music onto from your computer and
then put the card into the phone....

As long as you have the new firmware on the phone, you will copy the
mp3's into the MP3 folder on the MiniSD card...

On windows, bitpim doesn't work if you use the ringtone transfer tab on lg
phones. You can use the filesystem tab to add ringtones to
/dload/ringtones. (right-click the area on the right with the ringtone
folder selected) But then, you have to delete the ringtone.dat file in
folder /dload and shut off the phone for about 30 seconds. -Dave
