I suppose this might have been mentioned previously but I couldn't fine it.
Other than a thrown in advertisement for 10 seconds the only charge is for
the air time. 1-800-FREE-411

I just tried it for the first time on my cell and I didn't even get
any ads. I got connected with a live operator immediately who looked
up the number for me.

I hope I am not going to see any surprises on my bill because some of
these free 800 numbers are really not free.

Actually, I posted it about a week ago. I like the service. It works fine
for residential and business. If you request a residential number there are
no ads. If you request a business number, you get the short recorded ad. Not
a bad deal to circumvent about a $1.60 charge (don't know the exact VZW
charge, but I think this is about right).

Others posted similar services. I tried the others. This was way better
IMHO.

But be aware the info database may not cover your area.
They have nothing for businesses in Mt Olive or Budd Lake NJ.

I did not ask, but if I do I will post back.
One gal offered to let me talk to a supervisor. I think I will try
today.

Hi

I just called and asked why they give free directory service and the
operator said they are a directory service provider for "Jingle
Network". Does that mean anything to anyone?

It's the parent company.

Peruse the Free411 website for more info.

Read earlier post by me which has links.

They make money by charging businesses for short ads.
