Motorola V710 says Charge Complete after a few seconds
|
|
| Chris Eilersen 2006-10-18, 10:33 pm |
| I just bought a new V710 and, when I try to charge a depleted battery, I get
a "Charge Complete" message after a few seconds. The battery meter indicates
"6" (full), but if I take the charger out and try it again, it begins to
charge and the battery meter will read "2". Sometimes, it will say "charge
complete" again within a few seconds, and sometimes it will continue the
charge.
I'm assuming this is not normal. Is it a problem with the charging port, or
the charger itself?
Thanks

Lithium Ion battery packs have a little IC in them to keep track of the
charge/discharge cycles of them. Yours has become confused......
Discharge the battery pack, completely until the phone shuts down, then,
immediately recharge it as long as it will charge. Repeat this process 3
times before taking the defective battery pack back to the thieves you
bought it from for a replacement.
Don't wait 15 days or they will have an excuse not to replace it....of
course.

| Why are they "thieves"? Because the battery was defective? Wow. I hope YOU
never make a mistake.

Horseshit, Larry. I've had VZW replace a defective battery as long as
11 months into a contract, NQA.

| The OP never stated from whom he purchased the phone. If it wasn't Verizon,
he may have some trouble obtaining a battery replacement.
