| They're offering the extended battery for about 1/2 off right now - they
know it's an issue.

A colleague at work has a Q with the extended battery. Even so, he has to
recharge every night. With the normal battery, he says he often couldn't make
it through the workday.

Here's the new extended battery for the Q that VZW says will run all week
without recharging, even if you leave wifi on!

MoQs can now be had amazingly cheaply on Ebay. Liquidation shops are selling
and auctioning them by the boxload as well. Not a very good sign.

For the teens, they have a custom Radio Flyer 4-wheeled wagon that can hold
TWO "extended" batteries and a 100A charger! Comes in 12 cool colors with
changeable "skins" for the bubblegummer girls.

Does the Q now support wifi? That was one of the reasons I wouldn't go with
it.

No Wifi, which is why the cellular companies push it so hard. No need to
fear the Q customers bitching because wifi is turned off or if the
carriers, as they area always doing, hobbled it up. Q is only a
cellphone. The carriers hobbled up the Bluetooth so it wouldn't
communicate over it, either.
To quote Cnet:
"Unlike with the Palm Treo 700p, Verizon will not support dial-up
networking capabilities via Bluetooth on the Q."
An honest report on Q is on:
http://reviews.cnet.com/Motorola_Q/...7-31473357.html
No thanks. Why sit right next to a router hooked to 7Mbps internet
without all the you-don't-do-this-or-we'll-screw-you limits plodding
along at 100Kbps and only being able to look, slowly, at webpage spam and
email.
Q is a better reason to buy a wifi PDA and keep your old cellphone. Just
make sure it's NOT a Windows Mobile 5 PDA. You can't keep them from
crashing. I sent back the POS from Dell, the flagship Axim X51v, which
was just awful....reboot, reboot, REBOOT all day. Another brand WM5 PDA
crashed right in my hand, in the store. I'll wait for Skype for Palm OS,
then buy a Palm TX to run it on....soon I hope!...(c;

| A small correction Larry.
When the Q was first introduced, yes, there was no Bluetooth DUN.
With a firmware upgrade that was released by Moto months ago now,
it was enabled and it is officially supported.

Try the Siemens SX66....gawd almighty does that PDA suck like no pda
has sucked before. It too is running Windows but we have to go with
s/w that will support Goodlink since our workplace uses it exclusively
and Palm doesn't support it.

It'll have to be really awful to compete with the X51V/WM5.1. I've never
had an OS that just FORGOT what programs it was RUNNING, and left them
running but simply ignored...with no way to get I/O to/from them....
WM5.1 is THAT operating system....(c;

whoah...you win. The SX66 doesn't forget what it's running, it just
suddenly not run them. Or, more frequently than anything else, just
freeze up. To make matters worse, there's NO POWER BUTTON. You have
to take the battery out of the back just to power it off.
