Looking for a smartphone on either windows system or more preferably palm.
Had the 700p palm but returned it as it made a poor phone. I use my phone
as my phone and my pager with text messaging.

I suggest you wait. I've researched this topic to death, and my conclusion
is that everything out there is seriously flawed. The Windows smart phone I
owned had AWFUL battery life and extremely clunky phone features -- I
essentially had to re-learn how to use a cell phone, which is ridiculous ( I
returned it). Most windows smartphones have a terrible battery life,
according to the reviews, which is not surprising since *all* Windows
handhelds have horrendous battery life, especially if you use the Wi-Fi
feature. Why do you think you can buy Motorola Qs for about $50 each in lots
of 50+ from liquidators, and probably 200 are for sale on Ebay?

I can't think of a situation where I, personally, would constantly need to
switch between the phone and the PDA functions. If you do, you're going to
have power problems anyway. An hour of talk and an hour of watching pics or
editing a spreadsheet and you're down and out, my friend. If you're like me
and don't need both functions several times a day, then what's the big deal
about buying two separate devices? Get a free phone and a cheap Palm device
if you really need both.

I'm curious why you think the 700p is a poor phone?
