hi all,

I want to use the bluetooth dun to have my phone act like a modem for my
laptop. I got the DUN path by shadowmite and installed properly. i set it up
according the instructions but it keeps saying port in use. Im using win xp
pro and it doesnt seem like anything is using the port? Do i need an extra
initialization string?

i also saw some sites that said its not possible with verizon?

if not can i tether it with a the sync cable, if so how do i do it.

Thanks

I used it with Verizon before.. i'm not sure how i set it up.. but it
was not all that difficult. however i did use it on a mac rather than
Windows OS...

good luck.... but yeah .. you CAN use it on VZ

i know this may seem like a stupid question, or that i'm treating you
like an idiot, but i swear i'm not. are you sure that your computer
has bluetooth? sometimes a manufacturer will install the "stack" for
bluetooth (i.e. the software and drivers) but not the actual hardware.
this would cause the computer to not recognize the request and
therefore give a default message of "port in use." the only way to be
sure is to see if your treo will connect to your computer for file
transfer or wireless sync. there's also a set of steps that you have
to go through in the control panels, which i'm not familiar with. i
too have done it with my treo, but i was using a mac as well. once
again, score one for mac!
