I managed to crack the outside LCD window on my brand new LG VX4650 by
stumbling into the corner of my desk. Initially bummed out that I would
have to live with it for 2 years or face an expensive and lengthy repair, I
called the LG customer care number 800-793-8896.

Taking the replacement parts option a nice lady quickly answered and said
replacement windows were available and cost $3.69 each plus I would need
adhesive tape at $0.98 each. I had them ship 2 sets for the minimum order
of $10, including shipping, and had them within 2 days. Great customer
service LG.

This is the replacement method I used:

1) Carefully pry out the old window with an Xacto type blade (a small
rounded one worked well)
2) Peel out as much of the old adhesive as possible
3) Use isopropyl alcohol and Q-tips to completely remove any residual
adhesive
4) Peel an adhesive tape from its backing sheet (leave the formed protective
paper in place for now)
5) Making sure its flat temporarily place the tape, paper side down, into
the window frame on the phone
6) Remove the plastic backing from the window (take care not to get
fingerprints on the back of the window)
7) Carefully press the window onto the tape (the window frame helps align
the window to the tape)
8) Remove window and peel paper off (use knife to life an edge) Trim off any
excess around edges.
9) Press window in place permanently then peel protective film from the
front of the window

There you go, a perfect repair. I'm sure the same method applies to other
LG phones and perhaps other brands as well.
