Verizon Using others towers

| Dose Verizon Wireless use other companies towers? I called customer service
about an issue on my account and at the end of the conversation the rep.
asked me how I liked the service. I told the rep that I like verizon but the
service dose not work around my area where I live and verizon needs to put
up more towers around northern Kentucky. Then she said that Verizon uses
Cingular, Sprint towers ?? Is this true?? I have an LG 8100 my signal goes
from 0 bars to a max of 2 bars then drops back down to 0 bars. What is
latest firmware for the LG 8100. I have version 06.
Verizon wireless works great from Cincinnati Ohio up north and from
Cincinnati Ohio to Florence Kentucky. When you go south of Florence Kentucky
the service gets spotty until you get close to Lexington Kentucky. As long
as you are on the interstate the service is not to bad when you go south of
Florence Kentucky but when you leave the interstate is when you have the
most problems. ( Dropped calls, no signal, ect. ) Verizon need to invest
more in Kentucky. I know that Verizon has upgraded towers and added more
towers in Kentucky, but it is still not enough. On Verizons web, the main
page. I see a box with links about It's the Network and Best Network
Details. If Verizon wants the best network they need address the dead zones
and no or choppy spots in there network. That's how you get more customers.
People are not going to use a service that has problems, and not a lot of
coverage in and around the area where you live and beyond. How often dose
Verizon put up or upgrade there towers? Cingular is the only tower that is
in the area where I live.

| Me thinks you need a bit more info...
Cellular companies operate via licenses, which are issued (or auctioned off now)
for a specific geographic area. Call it a 'franchise' if you will.
While there certainly is the possibility that VZW has a license and hasn't built out
this area as well as you would like, it is just as likely that they don't have a license
to operate there. I am not familiar with this areas, so I have no idea..but,
If they don't have a license there, they can't build squat - it isn't theirs, they CAN"T.
YOU are allowed to use other company's towers via a process called "roaming"
You are essentially a guest user. They bill Verizon, which then bills you. This
process is via "roaming agreements" - contracts signed between cellular companies
allowing this to happen. BUT, if there isn't an agreement, or if you are on a plan that
restricts roaming some how, you may not be able to use some other company's towers.
VZW isn't using other's towers, YOU are...
It is much more complicated than this (research PRL) but them's the basics....
