Hi All,
It seems there is a bug in the phone setting of the 700w.
When setting the "phone network setting" to "automatic b" where it
should be for a Verizon phone, the setting reverts back to "Home" every
time the phone is switched off, then on again. I've seen this in about 6
different 700 phones already, and have read reference to it on various
Treo sites.
Anyone else having this problem with a treo 700w?

**Verizon states:

Thank you for contacting our Verizon Wireless website. We are happy to
assist you with your question regarding setting your phone System Select
option from Home to Automatic B.

We apologize, as we have been unable to duplicate your issue with our
demo Palm Treo 700w. The System Select setting should stay at the
setting specified when device is powered off, then on, as it should not
revert to the Home option. Also, we are not finding any information on
the issue at the Palm website; thus, this does not appear to be a known
issue for other Treo 700 users. We need to advise, at this time, that
you consider resetting your device to see if that resolves the issue. If
the reset does not resolve the issue, then we need for you to replace
your device at your place of purchase because if the device is stuck on
Home, then the cellular portion will not function once you leave your
local area.

Hi. Same here. My 700W will switch back to 'Home' when powered on.
I never heard of this setting until recently when I was traveling out of the
country.
By accident, I switched it to automatic A, and was able to use the phone.
Pretty poor Documentation.

Dana, this is a setting that is "over the air" programmed, and should
not change.
The fact it does is a major bug and flaw.
There's a thread on treocentral.com...seems this is a widespread problem
that needs correction.
