| Do you need to have text-messaging in your service plan in order to
download content from vtext.com?
If so, (and since I will never have a text-messaging plan) does anyone
know if:
1) Phones store EMS messages the same way (in other words, just how it
arrives at the phone, or if each phone may add their own types of
headers & such)? This is in regards to viewing the raw file system.
2) There is a way to send an EMS message to your phone by bypassing
verizon completely? For example, I once had a nokia phone that had an
infrared port. Pairing that with a laptop with infrared, I was able to
"beam" ringers & if I was not physically at the location, I would not
have known if it was something I ordered off the Internet or something
that was sent through the infrared port. For example, may there be a
modem command I can use (at#pXXXX=[ems data]), after at#pmode=1 is
executed)? Executing "at#pbokw=X,ASDF" can create/overwite a phone book
location @ position X using the data ASDF where ASDF is the unique
comma-separated data that describes a phone book entry. Maybe there's a
"at#emsw=X,ASDF" command to do the same but for an ems message?
Phone is a samsung cdma sch-a630 with verizon. I'm pretty much trying
to find out how to get ringers on the phone if you do not have a
text-messaging plan.
Are there any verizon employees on this group that may be able to help
me out? Maybe even just pointers at minimum.
I've got the USB data cable & is the only medium that I can access the
phone.
