I just received a razr v3c phone from the company I work for. I have a
samsung verizon phone. Being that my company doesnt have a text
messaging plan, and I do a lot of texting, is there any way I can
forward calls/texts that go to my samsung phone(the one with the
texting plan) to my work phone? If so, are there any fees that are
incurred?

Same phone all the time/for your use only? (not a pool phone and handed out
whenever someone asks for one).. If so, see if you can add a msgs package
to that phone. (helps to mention that you can also use a phone as a "text
pager"... send text (short) from email on any computer to a phone people use
(10 digit #@vtext.com)... they may just like the idea and pay for text
messages to everyone.. Many phones (like the razr) even allow two way
messaging, so i's more functional than a one way pager only...

Somehow I doubt a company would pay extra for people to send "waz?" to
each other all day when they can call each other for free.

That's why I suggested unlimited messages.. You can actually use a cell
phone as a two way text pager, that not only works from a phone (as a pager
only), but you can send short emails as text messages to the phones too, and
sometimes even back to the computers too.. I used to do 24/7 tech support,
and had a pager and a cellphone, and the company had a whole bunch of
computers.. No way i was gonnaanswer the cellphone if I was
sleeping/eating/???, but the people at work could send me messages on their
schedule, and I could get them on my schedule.. After about a year, I was
getting maybe one page a month, but was getting a few text messages a day..
Why should a company pay for both a pager and a cellphone for someone, when
they can drop the pagers and spend less than half the money on unlimited
text messages? In effect they pay LESS... So why shoudn't people play on em
when they are free and cheaper than what they do anyway?

Fraid I'm not up on the lingo.. what's "waz" anyway?

Did that for a while after I retired an alpha pager.

My point was that the company was already furnishing a communications
method where users could contact each other for "free". IM/"texting" is
a toy thing that justs costs more and would add no real utility for the
company.

As far as not answering while eating or sleeping that is totally
understandable and I sure wish more people would understand that most
people don't want to hear blaring ringtones and people yakking on
cellphones while eating. Every cell system has voicemail so you don't
have to annoy everyone around you and can eat in peace.

From observation its the IM "whats up" equivalent when you have nothing
to say and just have to send another message since its been 30 seconds
since you sent the last one.

Thanks, never used IM, and can't imagine email or a NG post with that in the
subject...
