Porting Cricket phone to active Verizon acct?

My mom has a Cricket cell phone which is the number all of her business
associates use to contact her. She also has an active Verizon account and
phone. Can she port her Cricket phone number to an active Verizon phone?
It seems silly for her to pay for both Cricket and Verizon, expecially with
Cricket's severly limited free calling area.
