Why wouldn't you want a HF that charges also? Seems to me that requires a
car charger if it is hardwired to the car's electrical system...
Heck even when the phone has BT, I still like the ones that hold the phone
and charge while it's being held. I use it with the built in speakerphone
(don't have to worry about the BT headset going dead)

There are HF kits that are not installed. They power via the cig lighter
and in most cases are of lower quality. I think this is what he meant.
Cig lighter adapter with a speaker..

All of the installed kits charge also - or should I say the ones that physically
connect to the phone. And, most also have a RF connection to the phone
for external antenna, a bonus.

The BT kits, while convenient, don't give you either of the above...

Motorola V276 (tri-mode)
Motorola E815 (all-digital)

See "http://nordicgroup.us/mphfck" a great source of information on
Motorola Professional Hands Free Car Kits. A great website by a really
great person.

The V325 will NOT work with a car kit.

I am using the V276 in a Motorola Professional Hands Free Car Kit.

I don't know if this store is the cheapest place, but I've purchased
from them several times, and they are very reliable.

I think that V276 isn't on Verizon's web site any more, but it's still
available from various places, including Amazon (if you're a new
customer). I bought a V276 at Target, the prepaid model, and just used
it on my regular Verizon account. It was $80. Later I got one for my
daughter, to use on PagePlus prepaid, and it was $70. Costco used to
have them, but not any more. It's $100 from WalMart.
Thanks.......

What do you think of it? I used to work Verizon Wireless back in late 90's,
I did installs and service for them. So I'm looking for a good reliable
phone with a real handsfree kit.
Also how much did they get you for the kit?

thnx

The original installed handsfree kits were chargers and handsfree kits in
package, I used to install them for Verizon, when they were Bell Atlantic
Mobile.

Thanks for all the info. At least I know what to look at now. I'm going to
be replacing a Startac digital, not that I want to, but the software is just
to old to work properly with the network anymore.

Thanks to all...................

I recommend you get the HF kit made by the manufacturer compare to a
company like Smooth talker. The issue I have seen, over time the phone
doesn't fit. I install and service HF kits, including booster.
