| This is how to do it. First, this is what you need.
1. A Verizon phone that uses a memory card. I use a Samsung A-950
2. You need a memory card.
3. A program to change mp3 files to .wav files. Get it at
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r10.exe
4. You need a .qcp converter. E-mail me and I will tell you where to
get one. Streetlight...@gmail.com
After you get all this you are ready to start.
1. Insert your memory card into your computer and make it have the
following folders and be named the same
way....MY_FLIX....MY_PIX....MY_MP3S....MY_SOUNDS
2. Open dBpowerAMP. Find your favorite song and click on it. Change
the settings so it says Bits as Soucre....Freq as Source....1 'Mono'.
Then hit convert. Good job, you just made a .wav file. Put yourself
on the back.
3. Open Sound Recorder (Start>Program
Files>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder). Open up the file you
just made. You should shorten it to about 30 seconds. To do this,
find where you want the ringtone to start. Hit pause. Go to
Edit>Delete Before Current Position. Continue to play the song until
it gets to around 30 seconds. Hit pause. Go to Edit>Delete After
Current Position. Save the file.
4. This is the part when you need the .qcp converter. You can search
the with google or you could e-mail me (streetlight...@gmail.com).
5. When you get the .qcp converter, drag and drop the new .wav file on
the .exe and in that folder will be a new file which will be used as
your ringtone..
6. Insert your memory card into your computer. Put the new file into
the folder, MY_SOUNDS.
7. Take the card out and put it back into your phone. Go into
Settings and Tools>Sounds>Call Ringtone>My Sounds. And Boom! there it
is. Congrats, you made a ringtone. You can repeat this process to
make as many as you want because you have a memory card and these files
don't take up that much space.
You can also get MIDI tones on your phone for free. Heres how...
1. All you need is a phone that uses a memory card and of course the
Internet but then again, if you didn't have the internet you wouldn't
be looking at this. Anyway...
2. Search the web for a MIDI song (if you are a 'gamefreak',
vgmusic.com has a like 10,000 MIDIs from all your favorite games).
Once you find one you like, Right Click and hit Save Target
as......save it.
3. Put that file into your MY_SOUNDS folder on your memory card and go
to Settings and Tools>Sounds>Call Ringtone>My Sounds. Boom! There it
is again. The only problem with these is some of them aren't loud
enough. Some are and some aren't.
