| Just spent lots of time on the phone with Verizon and was told that the time
issue on my new V3C is a software issue that Moto is aware of and is working
on to fix. Shows the incorrect time and date

I have this phone (V3C) and I have the newest software on it
(GATW_01.15.04). I originally had the previous version of software on
it (GATW 01 of 03). Neither version had the problem you describe. I
have seen numerous posts on Howards Forums about various software
problems and the pros and cons of each version with this phone, but no
one has ever mentioned this date issue as one of them. The newest
software version was only released in May. There were several issues
it was supposed to solve. Your date issue wasn't listed as one of
them. I don't believe the information you were given is correct. I
would return the phone and have them replace it.

| Plan on doing just that but have to wait for some V3M models to come in. I
have the 04 version of software on mine already which is the most recent, so
updating doesn't exist. The store has to wait for some V3M's that have been
repaired to come in first. The lady on the phone from Verizon told me she
couldn't do the exchange from V3C to V3M as it is a different phone and
would have to charge me full price, so I will wait for the store to get them
in. :)

If your on a 15 day trial walk right in and trade the phone for the
V3M, should be no problem
Regarding the Time update there is a setting in the phone for
Automatic update, is this enabled? I just looked through HoFo and
did not see any posts in regards to this being a problem.
If it were me I would take it back and say here you go.
Had the V3M and got tired of the phone NOT showing my number booting
up and the message registering applications taking over 90 seconds so
I went back to the V3C and am happy again. To me its a phone, I
dont need Music, and all that, others may. Only thing I did was
make it so 24 hour time was an option and thats it. Have a 1 year
contract and at 10 months I can get a new phone. TO me thats just
fine, and I may be a sucker but I took the insurance,
WHY? Because Verizons biggest thing is the little white dot, and
they do anything and everything to make this turn color while your not
looking, I have scene it first hand, and reported it to the Manager
and district manager, the tech's were fired and the customer got a
brand new phone with a formal apology.
