I am trying to replace my little screw in antenna for my V276. Verizon
doesn't have any. None of the other phone stores have them either. Can't
find one at a local accessory/repair place.

I went online and found one but it's not OEM for the phone. I know that
there can be a problem with an non OEM charger or even data cable.

Q: could a non-OEM antenna cause a problem?

I asked my daughter to contact her sister-in-law who is in charge of
inventory at Verizon stores in the NY/NJ area. Hopefully she can find
one. If not, I need to know if the non-OEM will work.

Verizon offered to swap my entire phone for $50 and give me a new one
with an antenna. I think this is a bit extreme for a teeny antenna.

No. At worst it won't work (as well)

If you want OEM

this is the first one I came accross in google. I'm sure there are dozens
more.

Yeah right, and probably renew your contract for another 2 years.

She has insurance. $50 is the deductible.
Nothing to do with your plan contract.

They didn't say that.

No, I don't have insurance. I think they were going to treat it as such
because I ranted about being a long-time customer (6 years)and how I was
unhappy with the fellow at the local Kiosk who told me that I had to
come back in an hour because the entire staff of Verizon was on a
conference call and he couldn't get a skew number for the part. That's
when I dialed *611 and ranted.

The rep was on the phone with me for almost half an hour and she did her
best to call a few other stores to see if there was one available. There
was none available locally or from them. That's probably why they made
the offer.

I wonder if you could get a whole phone from these folks cheap.
Might be worth contacting them.

There are cases where Verizon will swap your phone when it is out of
warrantee. They will NOT require you to extend your contract. I have
done this on several occasions

I believe they usually give you a refurbished unit or let you pick from
the turn-ins they have on hand that are in working order.
