| Short answer--yes. Longer answer--there are built-in Palm aps in the Treo
that synch with Outlook at least as well as the Windows Mobile stuff does.
If you spend some money, there are a couple Palm-based programs that
synchronize FAR BETTER than Pocket Outlook does. I use Key Suite from
Chapura (the Pocket Mirror synch program company), and that stuff synchs all
Outlook calendars, tasks, contacts, etc.. It does not synch the inbox,
however. You need Versamail or something else for that (I use the new
version of Documents to Go, which you also get with the 700P built in to
ROM--and once again this synchs better with Microsoft stuff than Windows
Mobile versions of Word, Excel, etc.). I know this is hard to believe, but I
have always been a Windows-Office guy, but have had a Palm of some kind (now
a Treo 650) for about 10 years.
Windows Mobile is getting better and does have some advantages over Palm OS,
but as far as Office and Outlook synchronization and file compatibility Palm
has stuff that work at least as well (and in the case of Documents to Go,
vastly better) than the Windows counterparts for Windows Mobile.
