Help seem editing Razr v3c

| Based on recommendations of this group I have been trying to figure out
how to seem edit my phone so that MPT will work. I've been reading a
lot, but I haven't quite put it all together and would appreciate some
pointers. I got MPT. I got BitPim. I installed BVRP drivers and with
BitPim I was able to dl pictures from the phone (whoohoo!), though it can't
upload anything. My firmware is GATW_01.15.04 which mean I need to seem
edit for MPT to work. I downloaded PK2man and installed it, using
instructions at www.xlr8.us/hofo.
This is where I get stuck. PK2man doesn't recognize my phone at all. It
doesn't install any drivers when it starts, and my reading suggests it
should. I think I need PK2man working to do the seem edits, but no luck.
The PK2man help file mentions some registry edits for WinXP (which I'm
running), but I don't have the reg entries it says to edit.
This page http://mark.cdmaforums.com/V3C_Firmware.htm makes it sound
like I could bypass the seem edits and instead flash to 01.15.04P. I'm
not sure what the P means. Is this a pre-hacked firmware? Is this a
better approach than the seem edits?
Appreciate any pointers on what to try next, where to read, etc.

| 1st... USB or Bluetooth?
If USB, remember MPT doesn't use OBEX, it uses
modem commands to communicate. Bluetooth can be problematic
so I recommend getting things working via USB first. Then tackle Bluetooth.
XXX.04P is JUST for OBEX - it will not have anything to do with MPT. See above.
In MPT, I assume you did the VC3m trick? And you see the multimedia icon?
Did you go to http://www.v710.org/mark/V3C-1.htm and read thoroughly?
I personally use PST and P2Kseam, but there are other methods. Mark's page(s)
are very informative and should help.
