Hi all

Just posting to see if anyone can tell a little more about VZ
Navigator.

Does it work the Razor?
It there a charge for it and if so how much?
How well does it work?
Does it work in all areas where Verizon works?
Any other thoughts good or bad?

Thanks
Michael

On the newest model.

Depends on how much you use it. Check the verizon website. Or *611

I hear from a friend it works well. Not as well as a GPS Nav unit.

> Does it work in all areas where Verizon works?

Yes, Friend says, If you get a signal. It works.

You going to be looking at that small screen while driveing your car ? Good
Luck.
If your lost, It would be worth it. Just to use for the thrill. No, not
worth it to me.
Get a GPS Nav unit.

I went to the site:

"Search for: navugator cost
No results found for your search. "

But a FAQ is here: http://dts.vzw.com/faqs/VZ_Navigator/faq.html#item6

$10/month (unlimited use) or $3/use (for 24 hour period).

Yes. I think $10 per month or $3 for 24 hours.

>How well does it work?

According to a number of people who posted on Howards Forum it is very
good. No one posted a bad review.

>Does it work in all areas where Verizon works?

Don't really know, but haven't seen any reasons posted why it
wouldn't.

>Any other thoughts good or bad?

Another poster said something to the effect that you have to use a
tiny screen, but that's not the case. You can get the directions
audibly. Reportedly works quite nice with a bluetooth headset. One
advantage is that directions and detours will be more up to date then
with many GPS Units. Verizon has a Navigator demo program on their
Web Site. You should go there and try it out and form your own
opinion.

Just got the RAZR V3m. Verizon is offering a 30 day trial for VZ
Navigator so I tried it. Worked well. The Navigator voice is nice and
clear on the V3's speaker. Prompts were good. I got lost and it got me
right back onto the highway. Not without glitches, but I'm pretty happy
with it.

Works in the boonies too...
Sometimes here it won't get a location and address correlated quite
correctly but you can either save the location as a "Favorite" or you
can let it get you within a block (or often less) and search from there.
Once it knows a location as "home" or "work" it's dead on! My guess is
that the 911 addresses aren't exactly correct sometimes so that's why it
misses occassionally. Like others have said, I got lost and it brought
me right back... Definitely worth $10.00/mo. for me.

Oh, the prompts are audible and visual. Sounds really good on a VX9800
through the speakers or a headset.

D*mn addicting!

Have you tried google? It's free, (except for VZW's SMS charges.)

Thanks to everyone who replied to my original message. After doing some
research on the Verizon website I found out that I needed to take my
phone to their store in the mall to have the firmware updated. I just
got back from doing that, although it a little longer than expected as
my phone did not like the software loaded on it. The lady helping me
showed me the phone and screen was all snowy. In any event she gave a
replacement phone. Not sure why my old phone did take the new software,
but didn't.

Still need to download the software for Navigator. I will did that
later tonight after. Also will try and post a message in regards to my
experience good or bad with new feature.
