Dial up modem via cell phone
|
|
|
| I want to get internet access without paying $59 per month. Text only
command line access would be good enough. I have a dial-up ISP for
about $10 per month. The Mac G4 laptop has a built in 56k modem. I
would like to connect the RJ11 telephone socket on the laptop to the
hands-free ear piece socket on my Verizon LG8100 (or LG8300) cell phone
using the micro 2.5mm jack socket on the phone.
Some old threads mentioned that this would not work well because of an
impedance mismatch between the microphone connection on the phone and
the sound output from the laptop and vice versa. There should be a
simple solution to this, such as an audio transformer between the two.
Can anyone help with the design?
