Verizon Customer needing a Speaker Phone for in car use
|

| Hi
I am bound to verizon and, as stated above, I need a Speakerphone for
ongoing use in the car for work purposes.
I have/had been leaning towards the LG 8100 as it appears/ed to have
the loudest speaker Verzion offers.
However in reading the posts here and at howardforum, it appears most
who commented on the unit were not happy with the phones ability to be
a hands free unit in the car.
My co workers Nextel does the job just fine, but, I need to stay with
the current company.
I am writing this post looking for comments specially on the use of
the speakerphone while driving. I know the other comments I read
seemed to be more interested in the other phone features.
If anyone can recommend a better phone that Verizon will allow that
would be even better.
Thanks In Advance
Joe

| Well, I use my speakerphone mode successfully by clipping my VX8000 to my
sun visor when talking. No headset. I imagine the same would work with the
8100. The sound quality on both ends is fine.

Apparently they now only have the VX8300 at my local store---I am
assuming this is another step forward...hopefully!

Louder than the LG VX4650 which has a
round 5/8 inch diameter speaker right next to the
stubby antenna?
Works great in speaker mode in the car
at highway speeds, but your windows have
to be rolled up and any interior noises or
talking in the background stopped.
Nice phone! Buttons on the side make it hard
to hold without accidently hitting them and
changing modes.
If you are driving a pick-up truck, loud
engine or tires, forget speaker mode with
any cellphone.

I had read about the side button problem earlier---seems to be a
problem with a number of phones. I never purposedly used them on
previous phones.
Thanks for taking the time to post a reply.
