I agree, but why keep quoting the stupitidy (not you) and propagating the
racist subject line?

So those of us who had it killfiled by thread wouldn't have seen this.

Spammers are not the brightest by a long way or they wouldn't be
spammers. There's hardly any ROKSO-listed spammer who is not
currently the subject of a major police cybercrime investigation.

I've done that also and get your point, but not everyone who reads these
groups knows how to do that. It's bordering on too much PC so I'll leave it
alone.

That still leaves unexplained the quotation of the whole racist piece.
A far better answer is to leave the whole thing un-responded to, to die
un-fed.

Since I didn't quote it I don't suppose I need to explain it. I asked people
not to quote it and not to continue the ill subject text. You may have
gotten the thread a little out of whack. No harm done.

Not sure what problem there may be....
Somebody said don't quote the racist [or other offensive --lfs]
subject. The answer had to do with changing the subject would break
people's kill-thread files.
I questioned the need to quote the entire offensive body, and further
the need to respond to it at all.
Better I thing think is to just respond at all because if nobody
responds it dies, un-fed.

Again, I agree. But people do respond and everyone, including you and me,
think our input is worth sharing...
Take Care and I'll let you have the last word if you wish.

Propagating the subject line won't affect those that had it killfiled
by thread, only those that had it killfiled by subject.

You might want to fake that @cox.net with your NG client program and make
it @nowhere.net or something like that and don't post with anything real.
People will spam you and choke you out using email. You use the real one on
the email client program. You fake the address on the newsgroup client
program.

| That's why the racist OP (Cletus the kook) was posting my real e-mail address
(twice) in other threads. To try to put it out there for spam bait. Just being evil.
All my posts have a 'mudged' address, so as to not attract spam.
So, do as Duane says, (and I concur) - it is always a good idea to 'mudge' your
real e-mail address when posting to ANY newsgroup. Take his advice - ASAP.

I've been me (for varying values of "me") for years.
Yes, I do have some industrial strength filters. But the sumps for the
nyms that have never seen light of day fill at about the same rate as
this one does.
Always been that way, statistically speaking.
Neat thing about always telling the truthe: I don't have to remember
what I told anybody.

That also means someone could forge your NG posting address and do all
type of wrong impersonating you.
The ISP's don't care unless you can prove otherwise or your off the
Internet. You're kind of posting issuing the challenge here in front of
some who frequent 24hours regularly and are trolls to the last word in
that link. ;-)
You read the link. Do you think it can't happen to you?

.......Nice last line.....not enough of that anymore.
