Voicemail: Save message WHILE listening to it?
|
|
|
| Been w/ Verizon for about a month (Treo 700W). Love the phone, love the
service, but VZW's voicemail system leaves a bit to be desired.
- Is there any way to save a voicemail while listening to the message? I've
been hitting "#" to skip, but then it shows up as a new message next time
around.
- On other carriers, simply dialing voicemail from your phone would negate
the need to enter a password. I've programmed "extra digits" in my
voicemail speed dial, but since I can't hide that number from my phonebook,
anyone with access to my phone can get the password for future use. Any
correction for this?
Thanks!

| Also meant to add: Any voicemail backdoor numbers for those times you need
to call from a landline? The local one I found for Las Vegas (via Google)
was actually in use by a Verizon customer. Poor guy.

Press 9.

Thanks, Mike. I forgot to mention that I've already tried that. For some
reason, while listening to a message, "7" won't delete it, but "77" will. I
tried "99" for deleting, but no luck.

No, most have already been shut down. You must call from your cell
phone or call your cell number from a land line and press # when the
greeting starts, then enter your password.

I usually just fast forward to the end and then save. [33] + [9]

Personally, I prefer the password system.

Yeah, stupid isn't it. I agree that there should be some way to really
protect this.
Additionally, some may talk about the password/keyboardlock feature... yeah,
that works for outbound dialing, however anyone can still answer incoming
calls without entering the keyboard password. Again, stupid AFAIC.

Other than my "fast forward then save" response, none that I know.

Hmmm, maybe its something specific to your phone. Pressing a single 7
during VM playback has always immediately deleted the message for me on
my last five VZW phones....just as a single 9 has always immediately
saved the message.
It might be worth calling VZW support about this.
